Every design is checked against real materials, joints and workshop methods. Nothing stays a pretty render that cannot be made.

Furniture and joinery are fabricated in-house, to the drawings you approved, and backed by a 5-year warranty on its structure against manufacturing defects (surface finishes and hardware, such as hinges and drawer runners, are not covered).

You live in it
Finishes, lighting, drapes and styling handled by us too. You walk into a finished space, not a list of contractors.

We measure, photograph and listen: how you live, what you need, what you love.
Step 03Design & 3D
Layouts, materials and 3D views, refined with you, with three revisions included.
Step 04Fabrication
Your furniture and joinery are built in-house, to the same drawings you approved.
Step 05Finishes & installation
Ceilings, flooring, painting and lighting, then furniture installed on site.
Step 06Styling & handover
Drapes, rugs and decor in place. We hand over the keys to a finished space.

Good to know.
Is the site visit really free?
Yes, anywhere in Colombo and suburbs: we visit to understand the space and your needs before we quote. Outside Colombo and suburbs, we visit for a site-visit charge, paid in advance. If you go ahead with us building your furniture, the charge is credited to the fabrication cost (not to design fees).
Do you only do full houses?
No. We take on full homes, apartments and offices, as well as single rooms or individual custom furniture pieces.
Can I hire you for design only?
Yes. Our design includes 3D renders of every space and item, the size of every item, colours and materials (including fabric codes and board specifications) and any electrical layout changes, so you can take it to any builder and compare prices. If you do the full job with us (design, fabrication and finishes), the design fee is deducted.
Can you just make furniture to my own design?
Yes. We can fabricate custom furniture and joinery to your drawings, and we will advise on materials and construction so it lasts.
What does turnkey mean with SM Interiors?
We handle everything: design, furniture, false ceilings, flooring, painting, lighting, drapes, rugs and decor. You receive a finished, ready-to-use space.
Is your furniture covered by a warranty?
Yes. Our furniture carries a 5-year warranty on its structure against manufacturing defects. Surface finishes and hardware, such as hinges and drawer runners, are not covered.
How long does a project take?
It depends on scope. We agree a clear timeline with you after the design stage, before fabrication begins.
Where is your studio, and when are you open?
Our studio is at 2nd Floor, 841 Waragoda Road, Kelaniya. We're open Monday to Friday from 9.00 am to 5.30 pm, and on Saturdays from 9.00 am to 1.00 pm. We're closed on Sundays and Poya days. You can book a meeting at the studio through our contact page or on WhatsApp.
Which areas do you cover?
Colombo and its suburbs, including Kelaniya, Rajagiriya, Battaramulla, Nugegoda, Dehiwala, Kotte, Wattala, Kadawatha and Malabe, with free site visits. We also take on projects in other areas, with a site-visit charge paid in advance. If you go ahead with us building your furniture, the charge is credited to the fabrication cost (not to design fees).
